Bloom

About the film

A one-take-feel dance film shot in a single afternoon in a disused warehouse. The choreography, the light, and the cut are all built on the same rhythm, one long breath with a couple of syncopations.

Bloom was the first time I wrote music for my own cut, working with a composer who let the picture lead. The opening was silent for six weeks until I heard the right note in a cafe and rewrote the whole first act around it.
