About the film

A portrait of the last week of a working fishing season in a village that has fished the same water for four generations. Told entirely in small gestures: nets, hands, weather, and the way a town holds its breath.

Editing someone else's footage taught me restraint. Low Tide is mostly held shots and long quiet takes, and the hardest cut I made was the one I chose not to make.
